What a week...

On Tuesday I got a call from my mother saying my Uncle Don (my maternal grandmother's brother) was being put on a respirator and that my cousins were coming in. Quite a shock. He was a colon cancer survivor and had just been diagnosed with inoperable bladder cancer. His dr rx'd massive radiation or chemo (I'm not sure). Needless to say the day after treatment he had sores all in his mouth and throat, he was shivering with cold and felt horrible. He even talked with Brice to get funeral arrangements made (I think he just wanted to be prepared for the worst) which happened. The next day he was put on the respirator and Thursday it was taken off about 1:30 pm and his body fought hard until 9:15. I believe he was waiting for his daughter's (Donna) husband (Mike) to get there so she would have him there to lean on. Her brother (Chris) and his wife (Yvonne) were there with him and so was I. It was a real blessing to know he knew the Lord and went home to be with Him, his parent's, wife and sister (my grandmother - mom).
Even though it was not the best of times, we did get to visit a lot with my cousins and remind each other of all the fun times we have had with Don and with each other. We definitely need to do this more often. I might have to arrange a family reunion for us so we won't lose touch. I love my family so very much and I hope they know that.
Well tomorrow I am subbing at BH with the PE and Cody will be home with the kids. Oh yeah, Cody starts back with United on Feb 1st. He is really excited.
More later....

Catch up

Okay, I haven't posted in awhile, but I have a reason. I was going to post after Elizabeth turned 4 - which was January 9th - however the pics I was going to post with it, I realized were saved on my camera's internal memory not my memory card, so I need to purchase a cord to transfer them to my computer before I can post those pics. Lame excuse I know.
Anyway, Elizabeth is now 4, we had her party at a put put course in the mall that is decorated with neon paint and black lights, it is really cool and the kids LOVE going there-so that is where we had her party. She specifically asked for a trampoline and a putter. She got a trampoline-an excercise trampoline-and Thomas and her love it. They jump on it all the time. And she got a putter from her Aunt Crystal. She has used it a couple of times.
I have to brag on her and Thomas for a minute. I have to say they have their moments when they fight-sometimes physical-but the majority of the time they are playing together -laughing and running around with new games or ideas. They love Annie so every once in awhile I will catch them with rags, dusting things singing "It's a hard knock life". That was pretty funny!! Now they are taking turns being a dog with the other one leading them around by their shirt collars. They are also very thoughtful of one another. If one has a snack or something, they always make sure the other one has one. Just last night Elizabeth brought their card table into the living room and was thoughtful enough not just to bring herself a chair but Thomas one too. I think they will always be close and I pray they will always be kind and loving to each other-at least most of the time. Kids will be kids you know.

Goodbye ...

Well, the holidays are over and the new year begins.
We had a great Christmas visiting all our families and loves ones.
The tree is up, furniture rearranged to make room for new toys and a new year begins.
The kids got 2 gifts a piece from us one from each other and stocking stuffers of things that go with the presents they got. Elizabeth got a vanity and washer/dryer and Thomas got a dump truck that moves and makes noises and a train set. They gave each other coloring books and play-doh & accessories. They got together an easel with a chalk board on one side and a white erase/magnetic board on the other. Chalk and markers in their stockings and some other fun nick nacks. From "Santa" they got a tunnel and tent play set.
I got Cody a watch, binoculars, and a gift card to Academy to buy him work shoes (that is what he wanted) and the kids got him a sweater, Elizabeth picked the color - yellow. And he looks good in it. I was going to pick brown or blue - I know what a shocker.
Cody got me exactly what I wanted - a massage cushion that attaches to your chair. It is the ultimate one with rolling and shiatsu massage. Where you can adjust the width of the rollers and stop it on a certain spot that might need extra work. He also got me a lighted make-up mirror and a towel warmer. The kids got me 3 throw blankets and a card shuffler - I like card games - any games actually.
So I think we blessed each other not even mentioning what we got from everyone else - Thank you everyone!
Cody has 3 places to decide from regarding where he wants to work and is trying to make that decision without letting anyone down but also standing up for himself. He has such a big heart. I just want him to get to that place that he was before where he liked going to work and enjoyed working with the people he worked with and didn't feel taken advantage of. He gives 200%.
But I know that we have prayed about it and the right doors will open and the wrong ones will close and He will guide Cody in the path He should take.
This is the year of the Open Door and we are walking through it. We are blessed so that we can be a blessing. I pray that we do all the Lord expects us to. To acheive what He has put in our hearts.
I hope you all had a great Christmas, a happy New Year and have an even more abundant year in 2007 than 2006. We love you!
I will post pics later as the system wouldn't let me.
